Voice Lessons

Hello!  I gave my senior recital in voice 2014 and sang works by Alessandro Scarlatti, Henri Duparc, Ben Moore, and Edvard Grieg. I am a classically trained singer.  I have been taking voice lessons for the past ten years.  I sang Gretel in a production of Hansel and Gretel in the summer of 2011 and sang in opera scenes at my school for a couple years.  I also participated in musicals.  I sang the role of Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof and participated in Beauty and the Beast, and The Boyfriend.

As much as I love to sing, I also love to teach.  I find joy in helping my students find their musical voices, literally and figuratively.  I love making music with my students.

As a voice teacher, I would focus on helping the student find consistencies.  Finding consistencies in posture and breath support is so vital to all singers and is a skill that the student could use for the rest of his or her life.  I am classically trained and would encourage a study of some pieces in that genre, but I am willing to explore other genres with the student.  Whether the student wants to sing Mozart, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, or rock, I can help the student sing any of that music with a healthy sound.  Below, I've included a video of me giving a first voice lesson to a recent addition to my studio.  The video on the left is the warm-up portion and the video on the right is the repertoire portion.  For most lessons, these portions of the lesson would be fairly equal.
