Emily Neuberger currently teaches at Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate school in West Allis, WI. This is her fourth year in the role of 6-8 choral director. She teaches 6th grade chorus, 7th grade chorus, 8th grade chorus, and conducts the Wildcat Voices. Emily also prepares and accompanies all of her FLW students for Solo and Ensemble unless they study voice privately. She has taught 6th and 7th grade general music at FLW in previous years.
Emily completed her first year of teaching at the Little Wolf Jr/Sr High School in Manawa, WI. She taught 5-12 choral music and 7-8 general music. She taught a 5-6th grade chorus, a 7-8th grade chorus, and a 9-12th grade chorus. Emily accompanied the 7-8th grade chorus and the 9-12th grade chorus on a daily basis.
Emily completed her Practicum at Heath School in Brookline, MA in May of 2014. She taught 1st-5th grade General Music, a 5th grade chorus, and a 6th-8th grade chorus.
Emily studied voice with Penelope Bitzas at Boston University. She received her degree in Voice Performance and Music Education from Boston University's College of Fine Arts in May of 2014. She has completed internships at the Roland Hayes School of Music in Roxbury, Thomas Edison K-8 in Brighton, and the Paul A. Dever School in Boston. Emily is a member of the music honor society Pi Kappa Lambda.
Originally from Watertown, Wisconsin, Emily was a member of the 2006 Wisconsin School of Music Association Middle Level State Honors Choir, the 2008 WSMA Honors Treble Choir, and was accepted into the 2009 WSMA Honors Mixed Choir. She served as the first chair trombone in her high school wind ensemble and jazz band for two years before spending her senior year of high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy with a focus in Voice Performance. She also participated in the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra program and served as first chair trombone in its 2007-2008 season. Emily sang the role of Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel with the SouthEast Wisconsin Performing Arts program in 2011. She sang under the baton of Dr. Ann Howard Jones for three and a half years in both the Symphonic Chorus and the Chamber Chorus during her undergraduate studies at Boston University.
During the summer months, Emily is the manager for the Boston University Tanglewood Institute's Young Artist Vocal Program in Lenox, MA. This coming summer will be her third summer in this role. She takes on administrative tasks such as scheduling, refining recital and opera scenes programs, and serving as a liaison between the voice faculty and students at one of the leading intensive classical music summer institutes for talented high school musicians.
In her spare time, Emily likes to cook, especially meals based on the Paleo diet, write fiction, and spend time with her friends. She also likes attending football and basketball games, especially Wisconsin Badger games. Emily likes to play golf and learn different instruments. Currently, Emily is teaching herself guitar and viola.
