Milwaukee Children's Choir Auditions

Hello Parent or Guardian,

West Allis School District is excited to have Milwaukee Children's Choir (MCC) come to our district and audition our students to join their after school choir program. MCC has been establish in Milwaukee for over 20 years and has six levels of choirs. The organization provide opportunities for children to sing with professional orchestras, travel on tour around the country, along with performing in Milwaukee. MCC is recruiting for this season and Rachel Beeksma, Associate Artistic Director, is able to audition any student in our district, grades 1st - 7th, who would like to be a part of this non profit organization on September 14th.

MCC rehearses only once a week on either Tuesday, at Milwaukee Youth Arts Center- Downtown, or Wednesday, at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, north of West Allis. Families pick which location they prefer based on their schedules. Rehearsal time is dependent on which choir level, but all choirs rehearse in the evenings, with the oldest group ending at 8:00 PM.

The audition process is very simple with echoing note patterns and singing Happy Birthday, and will only take about 7-10 minutes. No preparation is needed! Parents are encourage to sit in during the audition to meet Rachel and to answer any questions.

Please consider this opportunity for your child. Rachel will be in our District on September 14th from 3:00 - 6:00 PM in the Choir and Orchestra classrooms at Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School to hold auditions. If you want a specific time, please email membership@MilwaukeeChildrensChoir.org and a sign up will be emailed to you for an audition slot. Walk-ins are also welcomed.
