9501 W. Cleveland Avenue,

West Allis, WI 53227

My name is Ms. Neuberger. This is my seventh year teaching in West Allis-West Milwaukee School District and I am LOVING it!  I teach the 6th Grade Choir, the 7th Grade Choir, 8th Grade Choir, and the Wildcat Voices at Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School.

I have been singing ever since I can remember. From a very young age, my parents encouraged me to sing and to seek out other musical experiences and I couldn't get enough!  I completed my undergraduate studies in Voice Performance and Music Education at Boston University. I had the privilege of studying voice with Professor Penelope Bitzas and singing in Dr. Ann Howard Jones's BU Symphonic and Chamber Choruses. My first job was teaching in Central WI and I am happy to be back in the Milwaukee area!

I want my students to experience everything that music, especially choral music, has to offer. My students can expect to:

  1. Sing music from many different eras (including this one!)

  2. Sing music in different languages

  3. Sing many different types of music

  4. Learn to read music

  5. Analyze the text and words of their music

  6. Learn to cultivate and put to practice a good, healthy vocal technique

  7. Learn to find value and fun in all music

Choral music is so steeped in religious tradition, not necessarily just in the Christian tradition. Choral music and the music that we listen to every single day would not be the same if it were not for the musical influences of the church. My students can expect to sing some religious works infrequently and to study them as historical artifacts and to seek the musical significance of those works.  For further reading on the subject, I direct you to the National Association for Music Education's page:
